Objectives
The INKA (formerly known as NANDA® International) Network Group: Portugal aims to contribute to the development and application of nursing diagnosis classification both locally and internationally. A primary objective of the group is to support the adaptation and validation of assessment-driven nursing diagnoses in European Portuguese, ensuring that the classification is culturally and linguistically appropriate for Portuguese-speaking nurses. Another key goal is to advance research that explores factors influencing diagnostic accuracy and to support the development of new nursing diagnoses. The group also fosters the conceptual development of diagnosis, intervention, and outcome classifications and promotes scientific dialogue on these topics.
About Us
The INKA Network Group: Portugal was officially recognized by INKA (formerly NANDA International) in 2014. It brings together Portuguese nurses, educators, and researchers who share a common interest in strengthening clinical reasoning and the use of standardized assessment-driven nursing diagnoses. The group serves as a forum for professional collaboration, supporting educational and research activities that enhance nurses’ competence in assessment-driven diagnosis-centered practice.
Through its work, the Network Group contributes to evidence-based nursing, supports the refinement of diagnostic content, and enhances nurses’ ability to document human responses systematically and consistently in clinical practice.
