Tell Us: What is Missing from NANDA-I Classifications?

Jul 15, 2022
Filter by Category

As you utilize and teach the NANDA-I classification of nursing diagnoses, you may have run across areas of opportunity. What is missing? Are there areas of content that aren’t represented in our classification? When are you unable to find representation?

Our team would really appreciate your help in identifying these areas!

We find it helpful to know if concept analyses have been done, of terms that represent nursing knowledge, but that have not been identified or entered into the classification. You might also recognize areas that haven’t actually been well-identified in the literature, but they are coming up enough in practice that you believe they are important enough to include.

You have your finger on the pulse of what’s happening. NANDA-I only exists because people like you – who are in practice or education or research – are able to help us identify and develop new terms, as well as revise terms that are already in existence. You are the eyes and ears of the organization!

Our Director of Diagnosis Development, Profa. Dra. Camila Takao Lopes, would like to know your thoughts. Please email her at diagnosis@nanda.org to provide your valued feedback.
