Researchers to Present for NANDA-I

We recently published a new article in The International Journal of Nursing Knowledge and have invited the authors to present a NANDA-I educational webinar in 2025. Stay tuned for details on where and when this webinar will take place.

In the article “Enhancing Nursing Care through Technology and Standardized NursingLanguage: The TEC-MED Multilingual Platform,” the authors describe their development of a Transcultural social-ethical-care model for a dependent population in the Mediterranean basin (TEC-MED) within a research project (ENI CBC 2014–2020) that developed a cross-cultural social care model. 

Their model was developed to improve the functioning of companies that provide socio-health care and collaboration with public administrations in caring for older people with dependency and at risk of social exclusion in the Mediterranean basin, including the countries of Spain, Italy, Greece, Lebanon, Egypt, and Tunisia. 

This study describes the design, integration, and semantic interoperability process of a minimum data set using standardized nursing language in the caring module of the TEC-MED care platform. The final platform features an assessment module with eight dimensions for data collection on older adults and their caregivers. A clinical decision support system links assessment data with nursing diagnoses, outcomes, and interventions. 

While this platform is under pilot testing, the approach has the potential to improve care quality and accessibility for a vulnerable population.
