We are pleased to announce the recipients of our journal awards, presented at this year’s Gala Dinner during the 2025 NANDA International Conference in Lisbon, Portugal. Dr. Jane Flanagan, Editor of The International Journal of Nursing Knowledge, presided over these prestigious recognitions.
Rosemary Carroll Johnson Award
This award acknowledges the best paper published during the previous two-year cycle of our journal. We are proud to recognize this year’s winning article, “Concept analysis of self-neglect in the elderly: a hybrid model.” The distinguished authors are:

- Farahnaz Mohammadi-Shahboulaghi
- Kian Nourozi Tabrizi
- Masoud Fallahi-Khoshknab, PhD
- Maryam Rassouli, PhD
The first four authors represent the Nursing Department, University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, Tehran, Iran, while Dr. Rassouli is from the School of Nursing & Midwifery, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran.
The Editor’s Award
We are delighted to announce that this award, recognizing outstanding contributions to the advancement of the NANDA-I journal, has been presented to our CEO, Dr. T. Heather Herdman. Dr. Flanagan acknowledged her valuable contributions as a reviewer and her leadership in securing a new publishing partnership.
Dr. Herdman’s work includes leading the Request for Proposals process and managing our journal’s upcoming transition from John Wiley & Sons Publishers to Sage Publishing, set to begin in 2027.
