In 2018, Dr. Rita Gengo Butcher from Brazil / USA became the inaugural Gordon Post Doctoral International Scholar, setting a high standard for what was to become an illustrious program. This program is a vibrant community of like-minded professionals committed to innovation and excellence in the field of nursing.

Over the years, this program has welcomed ten additional scholars from diverse nations such as Africa, the United States, Italy, Brazil, and Spain. Each of these scholars brings unique perspectives, enhancing the program’s richness and depth. Whether based at Boston College or residing in their home country, all Scholars have the valuable opportunity to partake in monthly dialogues designed to foster networking and the exchange of innovative ideas. These sessions offer a platform for scholars to present their research, engage actively in collaborative discussions, and work jointly on cross-country projects aimed at advancing nursing knowledge globally.

For more information, prospective applicants should reach out to Program Director, Dr. Dorothy Jones, at Dorothy.jones@bc.edu, and Program Administrator, Dr. Natalie Borg, at borgn@bc.edu.

Once applications are submitted, candidates can expect follow-up Zoom calls and ongoing email communication to provide further insights into the program structure, expectations, as well as living arrangements in Boston, Massachusetts.
