We at NANDA International are pleased to share the recipients of our prestigious research grants, as announced by NANDA Foundation President, Dr. Shigemi Kamitsuru, at our 2025 Conference. These awards recognize exceptional research proposals that advance our mission of developing and validating nursing diagnostic terminology.
NANDA Foundation Grant Award
Our Foundation Grant has been awarded to an innovative Brazilian research team for its project “Validation of the nursing diagnosis: Impaired Peripheral Neurovascular Function.” This important work is being conducted by Drs. Marcos Venícios de Oliveira Lopes, Maickol Jhoel Tirado Castro, and Reinaldo Gutierrez Barreiro.

Marjory Gordon Research Scholarship Awards
We are proud to announce two recipients of the Marjory Gordon Research Scholarship Award:
First Research Team

The Brazilian research team led by Vinicius Batista Santos, RN, PhD, will investigate the “Accuracy of nursing diagnosis ‘Excess Fluid Volume (00026)’ in adults with Decompensated Heart Failure: a comparative analysis with point-of-care lung and inferior vena cava ultrasound.” The team includes distinguished researchers:

The Portuguese research team of Cristina Barradas, PhDc, MSc, RN, and Sílvia Caldeira, PhD, MSc, PGDip, RN, FN,I will explore “Decisional conflict of the family of critically ill patients: Conceptual and qualitative validity study of the nursing diagnosis.”
