The development of nursing diagnosis terminology is a collaborative effort that depends on contributions from nursing professionals worldwide. Please note an important upcoming deadline that affects everyone working on diagnostic submissions.
Submission Deadline Set for October
We will be closing submissions for the next edition of the Classification on October 31, 2025. This deadline represents a critical milestone in our ongoing effort to refine and expand the standardized language that nurses use to articulate their clinical judgments.
Anyone currently working on new or revised submissions is encouraged to complete their work prior to this date. We understand that developing quality diagnostic submissions requires careful research, thoughtful analysis, and thorough documentation, so thank you for taking the time to make these efforts.
Four Diagnostic Categories Available
For those ready to submit, we offer four distinct diagnostic forms to accommodate the full spectrum of nursing diagnoses. Within each form, you will be able to specify whether your submission is for a new diagnosis or a revision to a current diagnosis:
- Health Promotion diagnoses
- Problem Focused diagnoses
- Risk Diagnosis submissions
- Syndrome Diagnosis proposals

We encourage all nursing professionals to participate in this vital work of advancing our profession’s diagnostic terminology. Your contributions help ensure that we continue to provide the world’s leading evidence-based nursing diagnoses for use in practice, as well as to inform interventions and outcomes.
