Overview

The Education Committee is a core governance committee within the International Nursing Knowledge Association (INKA), formerly NANDA® International. The Committee supports the development, implementation, and dissemination of education related to standardized nursing knowledge and promotes clinical innovation across healthcare settings worldwide.

The Committee works within INKA’s Strategic Plan and collaborates with other committees to advance the global mission and vision of the Association.

Purpose

The purpose of the Education Committee is to:

  • Design and implement educational initiatives related to nursing knowledge and standardized classifications
  • Inspire and support clinical innovation at all levels of healthcare
  • Promote equitable access to nursing education and innovation across countries, regardless of geopolitical, social, or economic context

The Committee ensures that education and innovation initiatives are relevant, accessible, and adaptable across diverse healthcare environments.

Core Responsibilities

The Committee’s activities include:

Online Interviews

Identify key themes and invite recognized professionals whose knowledge and experience can benefit nurses internationally. Conduct and share online interviews, such as through the INKA podcast (NANDAcast), to make expertise accessible to a broad professional audience.

Webinars

Develop and deliver webinars on innovative and emerging topics related to nursing knowledge, standardized classifications, clinical reasoning, and practice development.

New Educational Strategies

Design and disseminate educational methodologies that support teaching and implementation of standardized nursing knowledge. These strategies are adaptable across different healthcare systems and levels of development.

Clinical Innovation

Identify and develop approaches that translate nursing theory into practice. This includes designing educational methodologies, implementation strategies, and systems that support integration of standardized nursing classifications into real-world clinical environments.

Collaborative Initiatives

Engage in additional education activities in collaboration with other INKA committees, supporting the continued advancement of nursing knowledge.
