NANDA-I Board and Committee Nominations Opening on October 1
At NANDA-I, we believe that the implementation of nursing diagnosis enhances every aspect of nursing practice. This includes garnering professional respect and assuring consistent documentation representing nurses’ professional clinical judgment, as well as accurate documentation to enable reimbursement.
Our leadership team spearheads our efforts to develop, refine, and promote terminology that accurately reflects nurses’ clinical judgments. Starting October 1st, we will accept nominations for individuals to join our NANDA-I Board and committees.
Open NANDA-I Board and Committee Positions
We will be accepting nominations for President-Elect, Secretary/Treasurer, Director of Research, Chair of the Nominations Committee, and Chair of the Bylaws Committee. We are also looking for 3-5 members for both the Nominations and Bylaws Committees.
The NANDA International Board of Directors establishes administrative policies governing the affairs of the Association, develops and implements a strategic plan for the accomplishment of the Association’s purposes, and provides a biennial report to the membership at a regular meeting of the Association.
The Board acts as the custodian of the property, securities, and records of the Association, provides for the annual audit of the books of the Association, provides for the bonding of Board officials as it may deem necessary, and provides for payment of authorized expenses.
The Nominations Committee solicits nominations from the membership for the officers and voting members of the Board of Directors, chairpersons of Bylaws committee members, and Nominations committee members; accepts nomination applications and other required documents; and reviews qualifications as established in the Association’s policies. Upon completion of the nomination process, the Nominations Committee will prepare the ballot and work with the Program Assistant of the Association to conduct voting.
The Bylaws Committee makes recommendations to the Board regarding the currency of the Association’s Bylaws through a process of review and revision. The committee solicits suggestions from the membership prior to the General Assembly regarding the need for change or the committee drafts revisions and updates for review by the Board. The committee reviews the Bylaws at least every two years.
