About the Speaker
Dr. Christine Spisla, NANDA-I Director of Informatics, has a long history of working with SNOMED CT, a health terminology used in the electronic exchange of clinical health information.
Webinar Summary
Dr. Spisla introduced the SNOMED CT basics and hierarchies, answering the question “What is SNOMED CT?” and also talked about the SNOMED CT Terminology Structure. She provided an example using a NANDA-I nursing diagnosis to understand this terminology and its connections to the NANDA-I terminology. She also led a live Q&A at the end of the webinar and shared information about how participants could get more involved.
What’s Next?
This was the third webinar in our fall series. On 10 November 2022 at 6 pm CEST (Rome)/ 12 pm EST Drs. Fabio D’Agostino and Gianfranco Sanson, two Italian researchers, will discuss their research study and methods on the NANDA-I diagnosis of anxiety (00146) in hospitalized patients. They will describe variables (diagnostic indicators) related to higher rates of anxiety, and also lead a Q&A.
