A SNOMED CT Primer: NANDA-I’s Role in Making Nursing Documentation Visible in Standardized Terminology
We are pleased to share that our 19 October 2022 webinar is now available for on-demand viewing, on the NANDA-I YouTube channel! Please click here to view the full recording.
About the Speaker
Dr. Christine Spisla, NANDA-I Director of Informatics, has a long history of working with SNOMED CT, a health terminology used in the electronic exchange of clinical health information.
Dr. Spisla introduced the SNOMED CT basics and hierarchies, answering the question “What is SNOMED CT?” and also talked about the SNOMED CT Terminology Structure. She provided an example using a NANDA-I nursing diagnosis to understand this terminology and its connections to the NANDA-I terminology. She also led a live Q&A at the end of the webinar and shared information about how participants could get more involved.
This was the third webinar in our fall series. On 10 November 2022 at 6 pm CEST (Rome)/ 12 pm EST Drs. Fabio D’Agostino and Gianfranco Sanson, two Italian researchers, will discuss their research study and methods on the NANDA-I diagnosis of anxiety (00146) in hospitalized patients. They will describe variables (diagnostic indicators) related to higher rates of anxiety, and also lead a Q&A.
