What to Expect Regarding Changes to the NANDA-I Multiaxial Structure

Presenter: Dr. T. Heather Herdman, RN, PhD, FNI, FAAN
Description: Dr. Herdman will provide an update on major changes to NANDA-I’s multiaxial structure, including the focus of the diagnosis (axis 1), a reduction in the number of judgment terms (axis 2), and new axes. Diagnoses axes are dimensions of the human response reflected in the nursing diagnosis. The rationale for potential diagnostic axes changes and examples will be presented. Q & A will be part of the session.

Impact of standardized nursing terminologies on patient and organizational outcomes: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Description: Dr. Luca Bertocchi, one of our Gordon Scholars, will discuss his systematic review and meta-analyses about the impact of using the twelve American Nurses’ Association-recognized standardized nursing terminologies on patient and organizational outcomes. He will describe how studies using standardized nursing terminologies demonstrated significant improvement and prediction power in several patients’ and organizational outcomes. There will be time for Q & A at the end of the presentation.
