Congrats to this year’s recipient of the Outstanding Contribution Award: Dr. Susan Gallagher-Lepak!
Dr. Lepak’s recognition as this year’s Outstanding Contribution Award is well-deserved. We are so appreciative of her many contributions to bettering our organization. Here are some highlights of Dr. Lepak’s contributions to NANDA-I:
A member of NANDA-I and a former board member, Dr. Lepak served for two terms as the Director of Education. She contributed to the past two editions of our NANDA-I Definitions and Classification book. Moreover, she was the Primary Investigator on a project that culminated in the development of an App related to clinical reasoning and the use of NANDA-I.
Additionally, Dr. Lepak has lectured internationally on behalf of NANDA-I. She also worked with Dr. Herdman to develop the NANDA-I course, “Introduction to Nursing Diagnosis.” This course is available online via Boston College, translated into four languages.
Lastly, Dr. Lepak established an ongoing series of online seminars for the Association. These seminars are available live on our NANDA YouTube channel and have been well-attended in both live and playback formats.
