With new Essentials for Professional Nursing Education and the Next Generation NCLEX, there is a renewed focus on teaching and evaluating clinical judgment and decision-making skills. The presenter will provide an overview of functional health patterns (FHPs) and address how FHPs can facilitate clinical judgment and decision-making among nursing students and nurses. Engaging learning strategies and an opportunity for Q & A will be part of the workshop.
Learning Outcomes: At the end of the workshop, learners will be able to:
- Describe the use of functional health patterns as a way for nursing students and nurses to better assess patient needs and impact patient outcomes;
- Apply functional health patterns as a framework to facilitate clinical judgment and decision-making in clinical practice and nursing education
Language: This event will be in English; and will be presented in Portuguese on April 18, 2023.
